On 6 February, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Singapore Space & Technology Association (SSTA) to cooperate on space activities.
The signing took place during the annual Global Space & Technology Convention (GSTC) held in Singapore, between Hungary’s Deputy Minister of State Dr. Orsolya Ferencz and SSTA’s President Jonathan Hung.
This is the first such agreement between the two parties. According János Solymosi, who was part of the Hungarian delegation as well as Director for Aerospace & Defence, BHE Bonn Hungary Electronics Ltd., the scope of the MoU will focus on space and satellite technologies.
During the week, the Hungarian delegation also met with other organizations in Singapore to firm up partnerships and discuss possibly collaborations.
“We are now also in partnership with ST Engineering…and yesterday was the formal delivery of S-band converters during a meeting with ST Engineering,” said Solymosi. “Also yesterday, we also met with NTU and discussed how to cooperate with the university, especially in space technology, but also in education.”
