From 23 May to 25 May 2017, major satellite-industry players are exhibiting at CommunicAsia, an annual ICT event held in Singapore and one of the largest in the Asia-Pacific Region.

Comprising a large exhibition with approximately 1700 ICT-related organizations, a 3-day conference and various other activities, CommunicAsia has been the site of major tech events and announcements, and is the largest gathering of satellite communications companies in Asia. At last year’s event, aerospace giant and launch provider Arianespace celebrated its 35th anniversary in Asia-Pacific.

This year, Arianespace, along with other large corporations in the Satcomm industry such as O3B, Inmarsat, SES, Intelsat, LeoSat and others are exhibiting in the dedicated Satcomm section of the event. Altogether, about 150 organizations related to the satellite industry from all over the world will be present, including from China and the Middle East.

Said Jean-Francois Fenech, CEO of Eutelsat Asia, “SatComm/CommunicAsia is an invaluable networking platform for Eutelsat, an opportunity to show our solutions for Asia-Pacific and global connectivity, and to take the pulse of the region’s vibrant communications landscape. It’s also a valuable place to discuss emerging trends and challenges in the industry, such as cyber security, and how to address and prepare for these.”

Yesterday, the first day of the event, saw a special Satcomm conference covering such topics as inflight connectivity, maritime communications, and the LEO-GEO Link. There was also a C-suite forum with Patompob (Nile) Suwansiri, Chief Commercial Officer of Thaicom, Elias Zaccack, Executive Vice President, Global Sales, of SES Networks, Thomas Choi, CEO of ABS, Thomas Van den Driessche, CEO of Newtec, Andrew Jordan, CEO of AsiaSat and Terry Bleakley, Regional Vice President APAC Sales, Intelsat.

Happening concurrently is Broadcast Asia 2017, targeting the pro-audio, film and broadcasting industries, at Suntec City, Singapore.
